Projection proofing in client's homes - 05-23-2009, 01:36 PM

Hello! I've been reading other forum posts about the benefits of projecting client's proofs - they buy what they see, etc. My question is that I do the proofing in the client's homes. I want to use a projector to show them a slideshow and let them look at the images individually.

So what do I project onto? Their walls are probably not going to be white. Any suggestions on an easy, portable way to do this?

Thank you!

A large piece of white mat board or a large stretched artist canvas can work. I have used both and prefer the canvas.

Thank you! What size do you recommend and where do you put it exactly? On a table against a wall?

I recommend at least one size larger than the size you want to sell. I usually take a picture hanger and attach it to their wall where they plan to hang their print. If they purchase a wall sized portrait then I leave the hanger in the wall. A portable easel would work also.

I use one of those portable projector screens. Something like this.

I haven't bought a projector yet but am open to advice on the latest and greatest. I hear there is a new one that is good for under $1000 but don't know who makes it....

The one I use is not new or fancy at all. I'd like to get a new one, but it's hard to justify when the one I use still works fine.

You can get a pretty good projector for under $1000 easily.
