google weirdness? or are they pulling my chain?

interesting to note...when i am signed in to google, and i search out houston wedding photographer, i show up on page 1, i have a screen capture that bears witness.

when i sign OUT of google, i show up page 5, ...

what's going on?

Have you ever clicked that little Up Arrow beside your listing??? If so, it gives priority to your listing for any search that may be relevant to your site. Just click the other arrow option and it will put you back down in the 'real' placement.

I just Googled Houston Wedding Photographers and you are on page 5 for me....but if click the 'Promote' arrow it moves you to #1.

yah - i get that's about where i should be...what i still dont' understand is why it's page 1 when i'm signed in to my gmail account... i haven't gotten around to emailing them about this yet, but i plan to

It's because of the 'Promote' arrow beside your listing. When you are signed in...it recognized that you have given priority to your listing. When you are not signed in, it shows your real ranking. You can do this on anyone's listing...not just your own. It's Google's way of allowing you to customize your searches.....and, it's personal to only you....that's why you don't see it when you are not signed in.
