Price for commercial work - 06-10-2009, 05:02 PM

My prices are structured for portrait and wedding work. I have a friend that wants me to shoot some portraits for his business. They would need the rights to the photos for their use, web/magazine etc. I'm not sure what to charge for this type of work as it is not my norm. Should I charge a day rate/hourly rate? What are the commercial rates like in the DFW area? He is a friend but I know he would not expect me to do the work for a lesser rate.

I probably would not take this job on but it will be photographing subjects that I enjoy shooting and will be consistent with my work.

it's really depend on the project. How many people involve and how long? I would charge by day or by project (but give them max time you are willing to work) that way she/he doesn't have to worry about how many hours he has to pay you.
