Yeah, its sucky looking, but when it comes to doing anything in PS besides retouching I suck. Anyone want to help? What do you think of the logo concept?

oh.... david - I wanna help... I wanna help! LOVE LOVE the name... and I've got some ideas...

but i'm currently waiting on Adobe to call me back, and I don't have photoshop installed - so it'll be later this evening.

Actually I have a heart breaking removal of life support NILMDTS session downtown at 5, so it'll be later this evening.

but I will definitely play with it!

I like the name and logo concept a lot. What it doesn't do is evoke "photography" to me, but it doesn't necessarily have to.

Thanks Donna, and I knew you were otherwise amused at the moment, but I would love to see what you come up with.
Todd, it will be on images and a business card with an image, and the card says weddings, bridals, etc, do hopefully the viewer will know it realtes to photography. If not, what the heck

Okay - here's a 20 minute run at it.

A couple of things come to mind - a.) you need something that is evocative of your logo/symbol that you can easily put on photos to water mark it (to me this is a useful part of having a logo). b.) The word 'covenant' in and of itself is a religious word - so to me, using a cross is kind of like saying the word twice almost. I know that will make NO sense to some folks... but the whole concept of the cross, is the whole 'promise' thing (not to get religious on anyone) but it's a 'covenant' with those of us who believe.

So - that said... I like the first one best... I think it's elegant... professional... and simple... and could be used as a watermark easily enough... but I did throw together a sample for you like your sketch... and then I did a couple of extra's for fun...

Original concept request:

The 3rd is a combination of the letters/cross factor... think climbing roses, etc... the initials weaving around the cross.... it's just a quick concept, so don't knock it for lack of perfection... lol.

I have 15 different cross brushes... so I did a nother with a sort of older font/older cross look... not my favorite.., but I threw it out there for you.

Anyway - that's my play on it... enjoy! ;-)

This?

Logos should also be created as vector art.

Wow Mark - that's a great idea from his first one. It's a bit ghostly/spooky... but that's cool!

So David which one do you like? I think both Mark and Donna rocked it. If I had to choose it would be hard. I like different one for different reasons and might not be as good for a logo but I like Donna's #1 and #3 and Mark's.

Ya'll are just to good, and now I cant deceide :(
I like Donna's 1 and 4 the best, and Marks too. What would Marks look like with Donna's font and cross she used on #4?
Donna, you think #1 for a watermark, or for a business card?

Renae - I use photoshop when I'm just playing - but when it's time to get serious - I use illustrator. I'm more comfortable with photoshop - illustrator requires me to work still.

David - one of the things I learned in my marketing training - is that you need conformity across all lines of your work. If you use it on your business card, you use it on your letter head, on your prints, on your site - everywhere. So that when someone see's that item, they start to relate it with YOUR company. Alot of folks have one thing for their card, and another for their site... and there is no conformity... and that should be a goal.

I've uploaded the .psd file so you guys can see the layers and play with them at your wil. I used a variety of fonts - if you need to know what they are, just let me know:
