Dear mighty TPF members,
Please help me decide the new logo. I like #1 and #3. But I don't like the font of the first one very much.
And suggestions are more than welcome!!!

I like the shape and concept of #1. I agree about the font. It looks like it is falling down hill.
#2 gives me a vintage feel with the font.
#3 I just don't like. | | | |

I like #1 except the font of "Graphic Metaphor" it looks like someone with Alzeimers wrote it. The little red symbol is unique and even though there really aren't any letters to it, it is a nice symbol. #2 gives me an old time feel...like a candy bar or an old sign or something. Although I like #3, it doesn't say "fine art photography" to me. If you are going for fine art photography, your logo needs to say "fine art" it needs to be classy, very upscale. I would change the font on the first one to something really classy and I think you could have a winner...now if only I could get something!!!

Ming - I'm not fond of any of the 3... they either aren't 'high class' enough... i.e. fine art/classy as Renae said... or I'd use a different phrasing (than fine art)...
I played around with it though - and I"ll throw this over to you...

I think they are all NOT simple enough.
I like where you are going with #1 and #3 with developing a mark, but the type associated with it is not working. Keep it simple. But I like these better than #2 or Donna's which are just some fonts.
Once you decide on a mark, if it's anything like one of those two, I'd probably choose a nice simple sans serif font. As they are right now, all the elements are competing with each other.

Sorry, I don't like any of them. They all use unusual, hard-on-the eyes fonts, combined with san serif modern fonts. I don't think that the combination of modern and old fashioned fonts creates a clean look.
Out of the three, I like the simple "gm" red logo on the last one, but again, the nordic font seems excessive. Perhaps a modern sans serif font would work better.
Also, I find "Fine Art Photography" in the logo to be a bit pretentious, no offense intended. Not that your images are not fine, but "fine art photography" normally refers to images hanging at museums and galleries. And I'd better stop here and not comment on what I think of "Graphic Metaphor" - sorry.
Donna's is too busy for my taste too, too many lines.
What can I say, I am a minimalist.

I like the symbol that's starting in #1 (could make a nice watermark and can be separated off), but I'm with Dennis that these are all to busy. A logo (or mark) is going to be applied to a lot of different things. Things to ask yourself when deciding on or designing a mark:
Will it look good printed small? (i.e. business cards)
Will it print well in black and white? (someone photocopies an invoice or doesn't print something off in color)
Will it watermark well? (especially important for a photographer)
Will it apply well to different media? (shirts, banners, website, etc.)
Is it readable? (which the text above is fairly difficult to read aesthetics aside)
Is it immediate what the mark is for?
...that's all I got for now...

I think I would like Donna's if you would take the GM out of the background and add the little red design...sorry I'm partial to that little sucker for some reason!!! carrbowl added 5 Minutes and 37 Seconds later...Double Post Merged Below
Ok...so I couldn't remember this last night. We have had a discussion with a couple of businesses locally. One is called the Kitty Korral. But they say they are a luxury cat boarding place. Does "Kitty Korral" say luxury to you??? NO... The other was "the Nutty Monkey" which served custard. The name told us, fun place for kids. Well the price did not tell us that!!! The price told us Cold Stone Creamery. Very high priced.
So I tell you this, because I want your logo to SCREAM, fine art photo!!
