Mr. Barnes,
I greatly respect who you are and your position in this industry. However, I didn't post this to get questioned on whether I'm looking to work for no pay. My business is my only source of income, so no sir, I do not work for free.
That being said, this high school is a small charter school that I have done business with last year. I'm glad that there are smaller schools out there that want to do business with my small, one-person studio and not a large national company. And, yes, I have the contract for this school for the upcoming school year -- yearbook photos, athletics photos, school organization photos, etc. They asked me to add the school ID photos in the contract and I need to find a vendor so that I can give them an appropriate price, so that I may be
paid before I shoot the ID photos. While they may not have the kind of huge volume that other photographers expect before doing business with them, I have gained additional business from other private schools and church organizations, through my relationship with this school. I think that is just as important.
This is the exact reason that I stopped coming onto this forum. I post to ask for advice or recommendations from an experienced photographer and I get 'beat down.' Thanks but no thanks...I'll just wade through this by myself.
