If you are going to send in images that would be printed in newspaper or magazine what size would you send if you did not want to send full size 3888X2592 image also is 800 pixels on the long side ok for web use?

800 should be good for web. For a magazine I would send a 5 x 7 or an 8 x 10 at 240 dpi. AndrewCCM would know for sure.

I send in 6x9 for newspaper use. 600 on the long side for web.

The image sizes wouldn't necessarily be the same for newspaper or magazine. The dot gain you get with ink on newsprint can overcome some minor resolution issues. Lucky for me, a few times it cured some focus issues, too.

Translation: Since it's somewhat of a cross between public school toilet paper, gravel and shark skin, newsprint lets you get away with a lot. Noise is eaten up big time by the ink bleed.


Back to the original question, just make your crop 10 inches on the longest side.

Roger that on the quality of news print, been there did that long ago. I am just not used to e-mailing images and just wasn't sure about what size to send over the net and rather to go with pixel size or inches. I may not have asked the question correctly.
