If it's the identity of your company, get a pro to do your logo. Designing your own logo is like the equivalent of using your friend with an SLR to shoot you wedding, particularly if you're unaware of what vector is or looking at wikipedia for . No offense intended. OP, this is not directly at you, but for all the forum.
Your logo will be used so much, and in some cases will be seen without any images. It critical that it be stellar, as it will single handedly communicate the professionally and intent of your company. Nothing communicates bad services and a bad business more than a bad logo. Often times, the business is wonderful, but that's just how people judge. ..a book by it's cover.
Of course, I'm speaking from a professional and businessman perspective. If you're not a pro, and you're unwilling do have a pro design your logo, and you will not be using a logo on disks, websites, letter heads, envelopes, business cards and other stationary, then why even have a logo?
No logo is better than a bad logo. And I'm sorry to say, but a logo made from a free script font, or really any free font found on the internet is almost always going to be a bad logo.
