Looking for a intern/assistant in the DFW area? - 08-14-2009, 08:10 PM

I feel slightly ridiculous posting this but...
Is anyone interested in having an intern/assistant any time past 4 on the weekdays and whenever necessary on the weekends?
I'm a hard worker, quick learner, and would love the chance to dip my feet into photography a little more, see how life goes for the professionals, and discover more about the business side of this art world.

To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.

You are a year too late for me to help you. I sold my studio in December. I have used an intern/assistant during the summer for the last several years. Last summer it took me quite a while to find one, but the one I got was really great. She now has her own business. Summer is almost over, but maybe someone needs help through the holiday season. No one needs extra help during the first four or five months of the year. Since you are in Grapevine, you might contact Jay Young. He photographs a lot of High School Seniors. Steve Kozak is also in Grapevine and he teaches a marvelous class on starting a successful photography business. I don't know if he uses extra help or not. I wish you luck.

I will take out someone to 'tag along' occasionally if the situation is right.
Keep an eye on TPF and opportunities pop up on a regular basis.
