Tim's idea is pretty cool, but unless you specifically use film I'd avoid the use of film graphics. Can date you among the young and hip who've got money to spend.

I thought of that, but even though a lot of photographers have gone digital, the "film strip" is universally recognized as Photography in general as opposed to a film or digital media thing.

I dont like "Coy Images." I dont like the way it sounds, so I'd prefer to use my full name. So where do I go from here?

Compare to wedding photography. If you have the money, developing a relationship with a good graphic designer should yield good results. There are many factors to be considered in creating an identity. It's a blend of practicality, style, class, personality, message, emotion and more. A good wedding photographer doesn't take pictures. They tell a story. They capture emotion. Their photos have a certain class, a certain style. I just think a forum is not a place to design a logo.

Unfortunately, that works both ways. :( Looks like you're just going to have to be happy with wedding pics done by uncle Larry and his Powershot. Seriously, an identity is indeed an investment. You need to decide just how important that is to you. Best of luck to you.
