Withheld?!?!? Unknown?!?!?

I am assuming that my resell certificate, and DBA have hit the record books even though I haven't actually received them yet. My phone has not quit ringing!!! Its telemarketers wanting to sell me credit card machines... WTF?

Do any of you get these? How to you avoid them?

They will taper off after a while. When you get your tax ID they'll come again. When you get your google local listing it will happen again. Whenever you post your link to a directory, a new wave will come. You're in business, with that comes solicitations.

Yes, I got a lot of those in the beginning. They've gone down to a trickle now.

If I receive an out-of-state phone call, I let my voicemail pick it up. My relatives from Virginia never call me anyway!

I've got my DBA, and my Tax Permit from the State Comptrollers office. There is ANOTHER number that I need? I dont have employees so I dont need an EIN do I?

No, not for now, but if you ever do, when you get it you'll have another round of calls start up

+1 I even kind of miss them now and again. You probably won't believe this, but I sometimes like to "mess" with their heads a bit.

I got those, I would just tell them I wasn't interested and to please take me off of their list.... it ended about a month after it started, so not too bad.

try to sell them stuff every time they call. they hang up and dont call back. tell them you have the most awesome sale going on right now. your portrait package jumbo pak is only $1499. blah blahblah...
