Miller's Professional Imaging.... - 09-23-2009, 05:42 PM

I just got signed up with Miller's and I just got my 4 pics back and along with their 4 with color corrections. There is not a huge difference, but enough to consider using their Ambassador service. Just curious, for all of you that use Miller's, how many choose their Ambassador prints?

It is much easier for me to let them do it all. Plus they calibrate everyday and I am not willing to do that.

When I shot film the lab was in charge of color correction. For the price difference, I see no reason to change. It would probably take a couple years of savings just to cover the cost of a good colorimeter, and never mind about the extra time you would spend calibrating.

Before I signed up with Millers I pm'd a guy named Don Barnes and he told me he let's his lab color correct. I figured he would know a little more than me.

I do my own because the color correction with Miller's is hit or miss (for me anyway). If I have a session where I think the colors might be off a bit and I don't want to go back and do the correction myself, then I take a gamble and let them do it. For me, it's not about the difference in price, it's about the end product and it usually looks better when I do it myself.
