I agree, I think with the pretty backgrounds in the images, they really don't work well with the 'grungy' background of the card... one or the other?

Background color seems too dark to me.

Doesn't look... happy like the subject.

Bigger subject photos.

Kk... I'll start the hunt for a better background tonight. Maybe I should just make one w/some of the brushes I have. Do you guys make your own or download them from somewhere?

If its a promo card, make sure your promo is glaringly obvious. Im assuming you are putting it on the back? I would put the gist on the front too. You may also want to use more than 1 senior - otherwise your target demo ends up being more limited.

Promos should have a clear tangible benefit, and a clear deadline.

Is this a promo card - or a rep card - i.e. you are giving them to her to hand out?

Her name and your website are hard to read, simpler typeface or simpler background, too busy together. I like the background okay (maybe a bit lighter though), but not the textured borders. The brown and pink are a good color combo, but maybe a little bit brighter pink to add more contrast. Maybe do a simple border around the photos (brown and pink solid borders?) and larger photos.

I like the overall look though, my biggest concern is readability of the text and letting the background overpower the photos. Good start!

Good start. I would try to pick a background color that has harmony with the images you are using. Add a phone # and make one of those images B&W.

I am giving these cards to her to hand out to her friends, so the pics will just be of her. I may totally remove my info from the front, and just do that on the back in night easy to read b&w.

thanks for all the feedback! Can't wait to get home and work on these some more.

What size do y'all normally print your promo cards? 5x7? Or smaller? I have been making this on a 5x7 scale.

Rep Cards! Rep Cards.

MUCH better than promo cards.

These are like business cards - one or 2 images - your info.

http://www.whcc.com/products/press-p...cts/rep-cards/

A senior isn't going to carry around 5x7 cards, in my opinion, but make it a business card, about 'her' and she's going to market you ALL over the place.

Check this site out for ideas:

Ah, I like those. Much simpler! And will basically take the place of the in-laws having to buy wallets for all her friends. thanks donna!

These are not wallets. Don't sell them as such. And don't let them act like they are.

This is a separate - PROMO item - that you give. I always tell clients that I will give them rep cards - these are 'referral' cards - if a new client comes in, books a session, and either mentions them, or shows me a rep card - the referring client gets $20 cash, or $20 towards prints. Their choice.

The rep cards are like a business card... not a print. Don't shoot yourself in the foot by letting them not buy wallets cause your rep card is acting 'like' a wallet.

Gotcha. This first set is for my little sister-in-law, so no sales money coming in from her, heh. but I am hoping this will bring in her friends (and she's got tons of them!) I'll be sure to reference them not as wallets. :)

Ok.. so Rep Card try #1.

Front:

Back:

I like the front, but I am not actually liking the back. Not sure how to get what I want on there yet. I want photos of her, plus my information. But the way it is there is pretty mashed up.
