Adversting your photography business, tips anyone? - 10-22-2009, 09:11 AM

Hi everyone. Pardon me in advance as this topic has probably been covered before.

I just relocated to the DFW area and I'm new in Texas. In order to gain clients and work, what steps and techniques would you recommend to successfully advertise my photography business with a limited budget? What has worked for you and what hasn't?

Knowing that ultimately it's worth of mouth and quality of service that will give my repeated business, I still want to know what your recommendations are to advertise and spread the word about my professional photography services offerings in weddings, real estate, events, portraits, and children primarily.

I currently have a home based studio and work primarily on location.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and comments. "I'm available for work!"

Edmond,

Best of luck with your new business! Very exciting time to open shop.

Discussed this topic earlier tonight over on this thread: Where are good places to advertise?

Also search for anything Aric Hoek has ever written here on TPF. Reading some Seth Godin and John Jantsch won't hurt your chances, either.

Michael Port's book Booked Solid is a really great book for photographers getting started as well. Guy Kawasaki's Art of the Start is another fave.
