Although I am intrigued by well designed cards, the ones that seem to work best are those that actually show what you do.
Use a great photo of a subject matter you want to promote, whether it be people, architecture, lanscape, or pets! Or use a different image for each of your target groups.
The card needs to be a marketing and sales tool. A tool to motivate people into buying from YOU.

Happy shooting and warm regards,

Michael

Critique based on its merits, not adherence to design brief. I have reasons behind why I like / dislike, but want to view critique from a person distant from it.

The design is clean and initially pleasing to me, especially the more horizontal examples. The light blue details might get lost when used small. Only real disconnect I have is with the graphic, which looks like it has more than "three corners." I know that might be too literal, but photography can be a literal business.

I'd like to see the top one but with the decoration doohickey on the end. It seems a little odd floating on the top. I've heard that landscape logos sell best!??

^ I hope that's not the case! My logo is square-ish.

Technical C&C MHO:
1. The icon's detail won't hold at small sizes. Gonna be tough to hold that rule too.
2. Nothing wrong with mixing serif and sans, but these two fight each other a bit.
3. "PHOTOGRAPHY" needs to be shorter L to R. Start with the "P" centered under "T" and end with the "Y" centered under the "S". Re-adjust the rule accordingly.
4. On 3rd execution, "PHOTOGRAPHY" too small.
5. Overall a nice safe traditional design that could be associated a variety of businesses.

A good designer will design for both horizontal and vertical applications. (i.e. Pizza Hut)

BUT with the doohickey on the top (which works in all three) he has once again, carried his theme of three corners that shows in the name, the doohickey and the shape of the overall logo. I happen to like all three and you could use them all depending upon where you are using them and not lose any branding. I happen to be drawn to the last stacked one. I am concerned about the pale blue color getting lost, but this design allows the logo to be all black or white and still work. I wish that the 3 corners in the design showed a little more. Here is a thought, could you do a gradient on the three corners and make them a little darker? Maybe not, just thinking outloud.

What if you added some little dots to highlight the "3 corners."

Simple is good .
The top one is best.
Photography is more prominent.
Three corners, albeit the name is less important upon first impression than what the business actually does.

This is a concept I learned too late after developing my own logo.
