Who is planning on going to Texas School this year - 2010?

Just got notice that I am on the Wrangler list. I will be assisting Martin Grahame-Dunn for the week. I'm so excited, this will be so cool.

I got my notice today that I am Wrangling for Bry Cox. It should be a fun-filled, exciting, crazy week. I wish it was next week.

What the hell is 'Wrangling'? I mean this is Texas and all, and I know what it means when livestock is involved... but what the hell?

At Texas School, Wranglers are photographers who are assisting the instructors and class. They have your newsletters each morning, help with setup and tear down, hold reflectors, coordinate models, etc... basically whatever the instructor needs.

I was put off when I saw this. I understand when studios do their own workshops and make this a restriction; but this is a TPPA run event leveraging the network of the TPPA membership. I'd prefer to see another Intermediate to Advanced course that is available to all rather than see one of the classes restricted like this.

My choices are:

[3] Fong

My thoughts on the matter, whether I'm going or not.... how are you going to teach a class at the TEXAS school, put on by the TEXAS PPA, with the majority of attendees being TEXAS photographers.... and then restrict TEXAS markets?!?!?

Am i missing the 2010 schedule somewhere? the texas school site only has the 09 schedule and says the 2010 is coming soon. I'd like to check out the classes/instructors this year.

The Sallee's are very talented and their decision is theirs, even if it is a little questionable. Mike only made a comment he "heard" .. there is no verification of it that I know.

I also noticed that our own Melanie (Melonheadphoto) is going to wrangle for them.

There should have been a multi-page, magazine like flyer sent to you if you're in TPPA... haven't looked at the latest TPPA magazine to see if its in there.
