Images for a realtor - 12-17-2009, 10:52 AM

I have a friend whose husband is a Realtor and he needs images for the back of his postcards that he sends out to everyone in the community!
She has asked me what I charge for 4 images high res on CD maybe photoshopped (skin softening). She said their current photographer (the main studio, well only "studio" in town) gives them an awesome deal, but the turn around is too long. They are normally pictures of the family or kids.

What would be a fair price for this? There would be no logo on it, just an image, judging from what I have gotten in the mail from them.

I would like to get her a quote today.

Thanks for the help everyone!

What do you normally charge for a sitting fee and 4-8x10's?

Realtors are notoriously cheap.. let us know if you get one to pay that much.

Especially if the agent is getting a good deal from the other photographer, this probably won't be about making much money. You might ask if you can at least get a small photo credit (Photo by XXX) on the bottom of the image, or your Web address. Probably not, but it never hurts to ask. That way you might be able to justify charging below your normal portrait fee.

For my realty photographs, 12 photos (including Front & Back), I usually charge $100 (promo) -$150 (Regular). The average rate that I know of in the DFW area (based on flyers have seen from the competition) seem to be $150.

I would charge $100 for those 4 photos.

What do you mean by front and back? And when you say 12 photos, do you mean digital or actual photographs?

Most realtors would use the image of the front-yard of the property and the featured "rooms" inside, Front & Back are the front-yard and backyard.

The 12 photos are digital files. Most of my work has been used for online listing. The photographs printed will be at the additional cost at which you price your prints.

Completely misread the thread. .... My apologies.

For portraits, $250 for the session to get the digital files should be a fair price.

Sorry again for the wrong info.

Sorry I thought we were talking about realty (estate) photographs. I totally misread this.
