Business Software - 12-29-2009, 10:16 PM

What business software do you use?
Quicken?
Biz books?
Something else.
Can you tell me why you picked the one you did. What you like about it and what you don't like about it.
Thanks :D

OR other choices
Tave
Studio Cloud
SuccessWare
shootQ
Foto FS
Daylite

Light Blue (I am testing this one right now)

It is important that you know what you want the software to do.
They all have the mange the client session down but some are lacking in the marketing relm and client contact.
I want my software to
1. record every contact I have with my client. SO that I can find it. not just notes that you have to search through. THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT!
2. Handle marketing campaigns with clients being able to be divided into different types of campaigns.
3. allow me to enter activities in one action. example i just entered a new client, sent welcome letter, send session confirmation letter, call to remind of appointment etc. in one action instead of having to do each item one at a time.
I was pretty impressed with Tave, I can even send contracts have them sign by email and accept payments. but it was really missing the marketing part.

I have used StudioCloud for a couple of years now and love it. It's perfect for what I do and the price and feature set are excellent. No contracts is nice too!

I spent some time checking out Light Blue before and after the software was updated to handle US currency. While it has some decent points, I found the method required to to import and track client images with their data to be quite cumbersome. I hope they've updated it enough that you may actually find it useful.

I started using Project Management, Time Tracking, Invoicing, Quotes : CreativePro Office for both my businesses (consulting & photography).

Great Price: Free
Does project management, invoicing, etc. Also allows access by multiple employees with different levels of access if you wish.

It has a few little quirks I don't like, but I've learned to easily work around it.
