OK, I have been utilizing à la carte pricing but have been receiving a lot of feedback that people would like package deals. I was coming up with some packages and just curious if anyone has tried discounts for people that prepay for their package. Here's my thought. Set up my package prices, then as an incentive/call to action, "receive 25% off regular price if purchased/prepaid before March 1st."

Thoughts, ideas or feedback is greatly appreciated.

Remember that a discount comes out of your pocket. I would much rather give a bonus that doesn't cost much, but has a high value. It is very successful for weddings.

Dan,
I offer 'incentive' items for packages.

To give you an idea, my smallest package is $450. If they purchase that, they get 'access' to digital files, albums, and all kinds of goodies.

The digital files they get access to are low rez'd files on disk of JUST the prints that they purchased (plus any candid shots that make you smile, but you would never print) for $50.

Without exception - every person that has purchased prints, has purchased a package.

My profit margin on the package is above 60%.

Very helpful information. Bonus is always better than a discount, in my opinion.
