I recently started a baby registry on my site called {baby love}. When couple's want me to do their newborns pics, I start them a page on my site where people can purchase gift certificates for the couple, to go toward their portrait session. I am creating a card, printed on pearl paper, to go in the couples shower invites. I am looking for any C&C on this card.....wording, design, spelling... anything! | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. OooOoohhh, from a guy's perspective, I like it Heather. From a Dad's and Grandpa's perspective, I still like it. I like the idea, and the card. I like everything about it! It's a great idea!

Heather,
I love the concept, and the top part (Heather Nix and Baby Love) and stripes work for me too, but I find (purely from a print standpoint) that it seems like there is a lot going on in the body. The body contains two different font types, 3 different font sizes, and the "braces"; which when combined together, tend to make my eyes wander around trying to find the "meat" of the message.
I wonder if it might help to add a primary and secondary color to the body text instead of the different sizes?
Hope this helps?
W

on the wording...because you're saying april & brian are please to have..... wouldnt the for our little one be better worded as for their little one?!
i just read it and it sounded funny. to use our little one...i would think it would say "We" are pleased? or we, april & brian, are pleased....
maybe...or maybe i just didnt sleep enough last night. lol
or...depending on who's hosting the shower (baby's grandparents?) - then i could understand the our?

THANK YOU Becca!
Jeff and I were both looking at it last night and couldn't figure out why it was off, but we knew it was! I will change it on the final copy!
Any preference on the text?

Dont kick me. Aesthetically, your 1st layout is best. You want it scan-able. On #1, your branding is more prominent, along with the couple's name. Which is what I would think you would want. Ive been ubber busy. If you ever want feedback on something and Im not in TPF, email me. ;o)

I love the idea. Ok, I am stupid, I read it and went???what am I supose to do???? Be in the photos????? OH you want cash. Then I still didn't really get what action I needed to take to help. And when I visit the web site, I have to search on what to do. For us aging grandparents and Aunts and Uncles you might need to spell it out or take them directy to page where they can purchase the gift card. I found it, but dang I had to work hard.

Heather,
Just as a very minor suggestion. You may want to capitalize your name in your URL for easier reading. Like this: "www.HeatherNix.com"... just to differentiate from Heath Ernix. ;)

and now purchase is misspelled :) LOL!
i personally disagree with the capitalizing your initials in your web address. Your name is spelled out up at the top and the rest of the wording is lowercase.
But - i would move the wording Heather Nix Photography up just a bit so that the spacing is even between "commissioned" and "to create portraits" - and i like the wording in the latest one you've posted vs "help in the creation of..."

As a scrapbook designer and card maker, I'm having a problem with the font you used for your business name. It doesn't seem to compliment the other font you used. It seems more casual while the other seems more elegant or more handwritten while the other is more professional, if you know what I mean. Also, your business name at the top is much smaller than "baby love" which doesn't stand out to me. I'm wondering if you really need to include your business name at the very top since it's already in the announcement?
If it was me, I would make the {baby love} smaller and maybe put a baby icon next to it, either on the left or right of it. I like the stripes and colors, very nice. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
