Logo Input / Thoughts - 04-01-2010, 12:33 PM

Well, as many of you know... I have been planning on rebranding for quite some time now, but I have been so busy shooting, that I have not had a lot of time to work on designing a logo.

My intention is to delineate the wedding photography from everything else we do. I would probably utilize the same logo, sans the ring, for the other site... but I am considering something loosely connected as well.

Obviously, I did not get any opinions before naming my company years ago, and I sure do not want to go through this again. There Pro's and Con's to the rebrand.

Pro: My current name may not convey the work we do - Though, I book plenty of clients.
Con: I have a lot of clients who know the name, who we are, and what we do, some sort of brand recognition.

So, why change the name then? My thoughts are we get so little time to entice the client to click on the link to your site. When seen in the long list of photographers, does my current name "grab attention" or does it trigger the "non professional" flag to the client? This is the $2500.00 question... quite literally.

Please, let's keep this thread to the topic at hand, as there is no need to get into a long discussion of why I named my company how I did.

Sooooooo... with that said, fire away.

I like the roundness of the g o and d in the first one. For some reason, when I see the second one, I see G then OLD. The mirror image thing doesn't do much for me.

I do like the branding and play on your name with the word Gold.

One thing I would consider is that there already is a GOLD PICTURES. There are also 294,000,000 hits for the google search Gold Images.
Gold Pictures
That will take some SEO to overcome.

I like your first choice of the three.

Thanks for the input thus far. Thomas you are right on... I was going for the continuity between the three "o's" in the name.

I did see the film company "gold pictures"...
