M·A·C PRO Membership Program - 04-07-2010, 04:40 PM

As a photographer you have an opportunity to apply for a M•A•C PRO Membership Program (so I did and was approved). There are several benefits this program offers to photograhers.

Having this membership will give me an opportunity to become a makeup professional. Plus, I could potentially be the makeup artist and photographer during a photo shoot or one/or the other.
In the state of Texas you’re not require to have a licenses to apply makeup so I feel like this could be a win/win combination.

Seems like this would elimnate a lot of problems that I read about between the makeup artist and the photographer.

Has anyone else done this? What are you thoughts?

I've been on the fence about doing it. Ive done hair and make up for stage in NY and a little bit here when I 1st moved down. If you are in a rural area and doing it anyway, its a no brainer imho. lol. Did you buy a kit? I liked that they said they would send you tutorials and give you access to classes. Are you doing any of them?

Its crazy hard to get people to do the look I want for our boudoir sessions around here. I actually did the hair and make up for my cover model.

This chick -->

Then I showed it to someone else to copy b/c I dont have time to do it myself. I should probably just get over that.

I've been on the fence as well and decided to move forward. I love photography and the artistry of makeup. I'm not in a rural area, but thought I would give it a try. I plan on purchasing the kit and taking some of the Master Classes (there's one next month), hopefully my card will arrive before the class is full. For $35 to get started, I thought it was worth it.
