I like it. Catchy and easy color on the eyes.

Overall a pretty nice feel, but I'm a stickler on the little details.
On the back .... 1. You need some air around the text. Let all the elements on the back breath a little more (4 photos are an element). 2. Bump the 1st line to the left a bit. 3. You have inconsistencies that should be addressed. "ab" design element is not consistent. On the back "ab" is condensed and the circle is a different line weight. Inconsistent "amy brown photography" on front, "amy brown photography.net" on back. Use 2 instead of 3 shade values on your text elements. 4. Loose a newborn, add a child or family shot. I'd prefer eye contact by the senior. Close ups and tight crops might also be considered (see 2nd baby).

Odd. I swore I posed a reply this morning.

Thanks Mark. I'll work on it some more this evening. There is a 1/8th of an inch gutter in my psd file that I cropped off for here. I'll work on sliding the elements around some.

Too bad I'm so OCD. Even if paid someone I'd still want to edit/tweak it myself. LoL.

I like them overall, but I agree that the images on the back might be a little small, I would have to print them out and see before I sent them off to the printer.

On another note, being a little anal retentive about I.T. things, you might reconsider your website address. ".NET" domains are generally reserved for "networks", you know, ISPs, etc. I personally always steer clear of anyone using the wrong type of domain for a business and know quite a few others who do as well. Of course do what you want, but I personally would hate to start out with a strike against me for something so simple and cheap to fix.

Actually, I had the .com of my address for a year, and then the hosting provider I was using literally held it hostage, demanding $500 from me to renew my domainname for an additional year. I told them to suck it and bought the .net through GoDaddy. Now a photographer in the UK named Amy Brown has the .com address. Not much I can do about that.

Being slightly in the web hosting business you would be surprised how often I hear that. There is a LOT you can do about that, for example:

amyrbrownphoto.com
amy-brown-photography.com
amy-brown-photo.com
amybrown-photography.com
amybrown-photo.com
photographybyamyrbrown.com
photographybyarb.com
arbrownphotography.com

are all available as of right now. But, as I said, up to you.

Allan

PS. Demanded $500? Sounds like maybe you forgot to renew it before the deadline, otherwise you could have taken it to ICANN.

I can agree with the other comments.

What you might consider is having different cards for your different areas of photography, and selecting one or two of your strongest images to highlight that category. I can understand wanting to get crossover business from one area to another, but I think the cards would be stronger with a more targeted focus. There are other ways to let the world know that you like babies, kiddos, families, seniors and soon-to-be-betrothed lovebirds.

Yes, I am new here. However I have been in business for myself for many years part-time.

I have had Pros do cards and done them myself.

That little piece of card stock has made a lot of difference.

If I have a potential project I make up a new card dedicated to that project so it appears that I specialize in that field.

I am a handyman and some people are put off that I am not a "specialist" in one trade.

hope this helps. Sid

personally, I'm not a fan of people putting photos on business cards. it's a business card, meant for contact info, not a brochure or flyer.

other than that, the top image, I'd make the ends of both lines of text line up and lighten the weight of the lower line. perhaps even make it just a lighter version of the background color. being white just makes if fight with the white text that's more important above it.

on the back, already mentioned the photos, but you don't need to put your logo on there again. the web address is confusing when you break it up, and putting a space in your name makes it even more confusing.

over all, I'd consider another design with just the logo on one side, and the other info, minus repeating your logo, on the back and lose the photos.

I don't think you need babies, families, seniors, blah, blah blah. You have pics showing that and you basically shoot every type of family photography. If you were specialized in baby photography, you could make that a tag line, but you don't really need to be specific about doing every type of family photography.

The two baby pictures are essentially the same, I wouldn't have both on there. The legs don't do much for me. The senior one is OK, but would be better if she was connecting with the viewer. Having four pictures on there will make them very small and hard to see. I would consider less.
