The question is...
If they just want a copy of the picture they are in for facebook or something like that how would I charge them and how much?
Everything goes through zenfolio....
I just dont want to GIVE them the pictures!

If you put them on zenfolio, and all they want is a FB image, they already have it.

Any words of advice? | Eric,
Was this subject addressed in the original contract for the event? If you did not discuss it in the contract, what you deem as fair value may be a far cry from the subjects you anticipate buying images. Was your contract for coverage only? They never asked about use of the images?

Oh come on guys, you know full well that biz plans are just plans and more than likely never followed through because circumstances change.
Eric, before you start accepting any gigs start first by determining how much do you want to get paid per hour. From there determine how long do you think you edit pictures per hour.
So say you want to earn $30 per hour. And say you are extremely proficient in your post processing that you can edit an hours worth of pictures in two hours.
Something like $30 X (1 hr shooting + 2 hr editing)
So technically in one gig regardless if its an event or a sitting, you need to charge $90 per hour shooting. And that doesn't include taxes.
From there you can expand to include whatever expenses / margin you want.
There is a more thorough explanation if you do search here for Stacy Reeves ultimate pricing guideline. She provides two spreadsheets detailing every possible scenario.

You could charge them $5 a pic, learn, and do things differently the next time.

Also, I believe that as long as my time is paid my clients can use my pictures on their facebook accounts.
In fact, having your pictures on facebook and being tagged on it makes more business sense because its viral and can be a good verifiable lead generator.

Now of course this does not cover every possibility, it does give me a great idea of what range I need to be in.
I am also not a business major, so my plan may differ from others. I was under the impression however that researching your competitor's prices in your market was standard for any business plan.

Hehehe, well when I wrote my draft I didn't include researching my competitors prices. I saw no point. I want to charge what I feel is comfortable to me because my circumstances are unique. Plus, I believe that by doing so I'm entering into a pricing war which I know full well I can't compete.
