Digital Memory Mates - 12-06-2005, 12:19 PM

I worked with a Cub Scout pack a few weeks ago and came up with this template for a memory mate. The parents thought they were "very cool" because they hadent seen digital memory mates before or havent seen a memory mate of any kind for Scouts. Im wondering if any one had ideas for the sizes that the group and individual photos should be? and how could I make this a little more exciting?
I have this set up as an 8x10 .psd file so I can basically just "drag and drop" the photos into a layer behind this.

Just out of curiousity, are there copyright issues with using a Boy Scout or Cub Scout logo? I mean they are technically private entities and registerd trademarks.

Not that I am pointing any fingers. I was just wondering. I am sure nothing would ever come of it, but you know how SOME people are.

Prophet out.

I thought of that too, my wife works for the local councel here and no one seems to care, infact they think its a good idea to offer this to packs/troops. Not sure who to ask beyond the local councel....

Hey, if you are good then don't rock the boat. And since you got an "in" just roll with the rock and keeping making that cash!

I did something very similar for a different orgaization. My suggestions is contact the district office, explain to them what you are doing and offer a small percentage (5 or 10%) of gross net (after sales taxes) on any you sell to be given back to the local chapter and I'll bet they will support you 100%.

See, now that is a good idea! Everyone loves a kickback. I will have to use this schtick myself. [Begins evil planning, with percentages]

Great Idea Guys - 12-08-2005, 10:40 PM

Sonny,

I really like what you have done with this idea. I shoot typical portraits of my son's troop, but not thought about a Memory Mate package. Would you mind sharing you Photoshop file? Let me know if you want a fee for this.

Thanks,
Reuben

Thanks guys for the compliments. Here's a tweaked version.

Beveled & Embossed the yellow frames. Changed the background color to match the blue in the wolf's nose.
