One of my Images was selected for The Houston Center for Photography Member’s Exhibition this year. I have submitted to this event several times in years past. It is not an event organized to showcase the work of artists with a disability or visually impaired photographers.
Inclusion in the HCP Member’s Exhibition is significant for me because it is an open call for a juried event at a main-stream gallery that is respected in the Houston art community. My images were judged without reference to my condition: I am legally blind.
Kim Morgan of The Houston Chronicle interviewed me for a story on the show. The link to the online version:

When the story came out in print I got a call from channel 13, KTRK here in Houston. On Monday they interviewed me on camera at the HCP gallery for broad cast that night. The link to the video:

The interviewer, Adela Uchida, was nice to me. The cameraman knew what I was doing and worked to get angles that would show the process. A good experience.
