I've been a member of the PPA for about three years now but never had to use them until a couple of months ago. Thru a strange set of circumstances, I discovered that a new FTW business was using my FTW skyline pic on the home page of their website. They had also cropped most of the reflection (including my copyright) and overlayed another design. I contacted the PPA to find out what my options were. A PPA attorney contacted me the very next morning and gave me my options.
With that in mind, I decided to try and make contact directly but was "kicked over the fence" to the web designer. After not really getting anywhere, I contacted the PPA attorney again. She sent out a letter on my behalf discussing copyright infringement and sample judgments made in the past.
Fast forward to yesterday, I met with the owners and walked out with a check and a signed Limited License Agreement (which I also got from the PPA). They are good to go for a year and I have some extra cash!
