Just wondering what your experience with NPS has been.

If you're a member, would you recommend it to others?

I'm a full-time photographer and am interested in sending them a letter. Specifically, I like the idea of having loaner gear while my gear is in the shop.

My concern is that I don't think I know anyone who is a member who could sponsor me.

In addition to a sponsor, they also require ownership of two pro bodies and three Nikkor lenses. And I'm assuming a D200 and D300 would be considered pro bodies and the 17-55/2.8, 35/2, and 85/1.8 lenses would qualify.

Thoughts from you guys? Thanks!

- Billy

I doubt your gear qualifies. You probably need a couple of D700, D3 or better at a minimum. Your 17-55 may qualify as it is a good lens, but it is also DX, so not really considered a pro lens. A 35/2 and 85/1.8 are definitely not a pro lens.

My guess on gear is:
Zooms:
14-24
16-35
17-35
24-70
70-200
200-400

Primes:
14 2.8
24 1.4
50 1.4G
85 1.4
105 2
135 2
180 2.8
200 2
300 2.8
400 2.8
500 4
600 4

It appears that the D300 and above for bodies and 3 Nikkor lenses (including DX).
