I have a customer who wants an image on CD to make Christmas cards, she wants 4 images on a Cd.

How much do you guys charge for an Image on CD. Now I know she is really using these for a Christmas card and not just to blow up portraits herself, but I know she then has the oppurtunity to do so after.

What to charge.

I thought about charging what I would charge for my largest format I print. $20.00 per image, is this outrageous?

I charge $85 for a printable CD from a portrait session but that includes all of them.
For just 4 - I don't know......$50.00? Because you really might be losing reprints later - not just the cards like you said.

You could always charge her your 4 x 6 price, and size them down to that. Christmas cards aren't any bigger than that. I've done that before for "save the date" engagement cards. My opinion is..yeah I'm losing money on printing them..but I don't offer that service (yet) so it's my own fault.

As long as you resize the image down to card size, you should not have to worry about them printing high quality prints from the files you give them.

I give them up to 5 images for Christmas cards (or if they give me a good reason) for free as long as they order an 8 by 10 or larger print of it. I'm thinking of changing it to 1 or 2 total, but I haven't decided yet.

whatever you charge, are you factoring in your shooting time and post processing time? That will make a difference in the price, but the $50-75 price range sounds fair for just 4 images
