I have a question about the legality of a company video taping youth soccer then trying to sell that video to the parents. The games are played in a league that is NOT affiliated with any public entity however the fields used are either owned by the city or a public university and rented by the league. I'm wondering if the company needs a release from me as a parent to use my daughter's image for sale to other parents? Isn't this a for profit usage of my child's image? I happen to be on the board of directors for the league, and I know that we have not sanctioned any company to provide this service.
Anyone here have any experience in this area?
