IS true. I sat in every class, I listened to every speaker. Each speaker, would present their lesson, during which they would 'plug' their sponsors - which was either their lab, their background manufacturer, or their equipment vendor of choice. And then on top of that, they pushed their own presets/actions/sales manuals/business plans, or whatever other 'product' they designed. By the end of the lesson, if you didn't buy their product, you couldn't achieve the results the 'lesson' was supposed to teach you.
Scott Hane - pushed his own actions/presets/textures, as well as H&H lab, and Dury's.
Vicki Taufer - pushed her 'V Gallery' stuff 90 to nothing.
And I can't even remember the rest of who pushed what, because after the first three 'buy me lessons' I wasn't paying attention.
One 'photographer' even had an entrance that would rival the Dallas Mavericks. It was complete with the 'lets get ready to rumble' song, smoke, spotlights, and their own cheerleaders. C'mon... reallly?
There were only two or three classes that I could remember that DIDNT have a 'buy' me attached. And that was Julianne Kost who taught Lightroom tips and tricks, Scott Bourne who taught social media marketing, and another guy who spoke about workflow.
None of you have to listen to me, and all of you can say that I run my mouth... But if you can go to Imaging USA and sit through a class WITHOUT that photographer mentioning his 'product' that he sells at least once, then what can I say.... I have a distorted opinion.
