Question from the client side - 11-10-2010, 05:27 AM

A friend of mine that designs swim wear has a photo shoot set up with an acquaintance of hers to get some images of some of her new stuff. I don't really do this kind of photography so I couldn't give her any sound advice on what to look out for to make sure she isn't getting shafted. Does anybody know where I can find any literature for the client side so she can be sure she is getting what she paid for (full rights for online and print, personal and advertising of non-watermarked images). Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

John all she needs is a release from the photographer and a model release.

Not sure if this is a commercial use or personal one.

If its personal then like Janice said get a Model release.

If its for commercial use then she must get an agreement stating how long she can use the images, where, and what can and cannot do with them. Most commercial images only get RAW unless the client pays for post-processing. And most often too don't have the watermark of the tog.

And on both instances, no tog ever releases full rights unless they're being paid handsomely or they're clueless.

EDIT: Just re-read and I think you implied commercial, sorry read too fast.
