“I’ve been a member of virtually every association within professional photography at one point or another,” said Bourne. He went on to comment, “We’re going to bring together the best of each of the old-fashioned professional photo associations and dump the dead weight."

Yawn.

Sorry, but all these orgs, associations, schools, and forums, and... reminds me of the mishmash that the wrestling and martial arts and other sports sactioning orgs, and associations, schools, forums...

Seems to go like this: you get involved in one or two (or ten) and you begin to see how they work (and don't work) well. You network and get to know tons of people. You put alot of work into it, and you get frustrated. It's just not fair, or you see someone else's effort get slighted or the undeserving win. People who are held in high esteem by the group amaze you as being so under-deserving of such honor. You see "the good old boys" and you don't get in, or maybe just frankly don't wanna fit in. You can't change the org to suit you and it doesn't suit you to change or accept second best (iyho). You don't like the marketing, or how the money is spent, or how leadership is selected, or accreditation for instructors is done. You don't like the judging, or the mechanics of picking awards, or the competition, or traditions, or given to what's trendy, or, or, or...
And, (maybe, but not always) since you have an all star ego to match your all star work, you begin to think you can create your own and replace what's there.

A new professional __________ association is born. (fill in the blank).

Also... since when is "the most followed photographer on twitter" something that has any meaning?

GoingPro Bootcamp Doesn't sound like their interested in the professional that's been around for awhile. It seems like both PPA, WPPI and this new one are after the new pro because that's where the money is.
