Out side of referrals or people we know, how do you acquire new business? What do you think works best for you? Direct mail, e-mail, etc. With out referrals what are you doing to get new clients?

I've always heard direct mail is ineffective until someone sees the same ad multiple times.

100% of my clients have come from referrals. We have yet to market ourselves in anyway. Have gotten google hits to our site, but never used adwords or anything and haven't booked anything from a google hit.

What type of marketing would work best would probably also depends greatly on what your target market it and what you are selling.

Ads in yearbooks probably wont get you very elaborate weddings. :)

Maybe I should ask if your referrals dried up, what would you do to gain clients? The clients you want that fit your type of business? Any one ask this question of themselves?

IDK, but I think if your referrals dry up, you shouldn't be in business, or you're doing something wrong to make your clients unhappy. WOM, is what I've tried to depend on since I'm in a smaller community. Getting out and meeting people and having others meet you is a great cost effective way market.
