Wait a second, you mean we are not all just doing shoot and burns?!?!?!?

LOL!

Seriouisly though, depends on the client, and the shoot. I have yet to have a commercial client who wanted prints of any kind. I have had a reunion that wanted nothing but a shoot with images in an online gallery they could buy prints from (Zenfolio) which did well (grabbed a shoot fee and quite a bit of print sales). For weddings, have done both shoot and burns and print delivery, and the prints I deliver mounted on single weight (smaller) or double weight (larger), spray protective coating, wrap in tissue and placed in a black box (helps that black is one of my company colors, heh).

What I am looking for now is DVD-R discs with preprinted logos on them. So far they have either been too expensive, or had to buy too many of them. I figured it would be nice for delivery of some of my commercial clients who want very high res, or for the shoot and burns (yeah, I know).

Flea...have you considered laser printing your own cd covers? I believe the software and printer is now available to do this type of thing in your own home?? Check me if I'm wrong but I thought you can make high quality cases and cds like that now.

A lot of vendors like WHCC will professionally print DVD covers. Things done in the home typically look like they are done in the home. Not the image I want to project. Little things go a long way.

I agree with Thomas, what I am looking for is the actual DVD-R printed, directly on the DVD, not a label. I have looked at some inkjets that print on DVD but they just do not have the pro feeling.

Yes that's what I was talking about...actually printing on the DVD/CD...not paper labels. I thought the technology was there for the home user now but I'm guessing since you have seen it, it doesn't look very good as you say? I'm not sure because I haven't seen it in person.

I deliver prints in a black box sized to the largest photo (up to 16x20, if it's not framed, purchased at Houston Camera Exchange) and wrap them in tissue that matches my branding, finished with a round sticker with my logo. The front of the box also has a sticker with my logo and "Thank you for your business." These provide good protection for the few clients to whom I ship their orders. Need to come up with a better solution for the DVDs - have been doing a printed label on my inkjet with one of the session images, but it's not ideal. Would like to do direct printing on DVDs - Thomas, WHCC offers this? I've never seen it in their product catalog - must have missed it. Really, I haven't sold a lot of DVDs, most of my clients have purchased prints and/or wall art, so I haven't been in a huge rush to find a better solution, but I need to.

Thanks reader....It seems that no one is using individual folders for the small sizes,,.. 5x7, 8x10 etc.
