Hi folks,

I'm doing a shoot for a hotel and need to come up with some sort of form that gives them permission to use the images I take for them for advertising etc - however i'd like to retain copyright for the photos and be able to use them in my portfolio

Can anyone either advise or point me in the right direction please ?

ASMP is kind enough to have releases online.

Property release | American Society of Media Photographers

I am not sure if I understand the question...

DISCLAIMER, I am not an attorney, but I do not think they need a release to use them, since it is their own property. However, you can limit the use, of the images, or place other restrictions, such as how long they may use them, or for what purpose.

If you use them you will need a property release, and if anyone is shown and identifiable, you will need a model release. The model release would be a good idea even if you do not use them, since the company is using them for advertising.

As far as copyrights, you always retain those, unless you decide to assign them to someone else. That must be in writing.. if you do so.
