FB fan page

I was reading on how to create a fan page on FB and it must be created from your personal page (by the rules). My question is: Are the two pages linked in any way? Can you keep your personal page hidden your fan page, and your fan page hidden from your personal page? For reasons I don't want some of my friends to see my business page ... and I wouldn't want clients to see some of my friends posts.

From mine, my fans can't see my profile unless they are my friends as well. Anyone can see the fan page, so your friends may be able to find your fan page and like it or just stay up to date on it. You can flip back and forth between the two by going to "Account" --> "Use Facebook as Page".

If a friend likes your fan page ... do they know it's you?

only if you reveal that you are the page admin. hide that window under settings on the fan page and no one will know who the admin is. the pages can be totally septate with the changes they made last month.

I'm an admin of my own page and I don't "like" it. So it's totally anonymous. +1

Facebook has changed the way they do their fan/biz pages in the last year. Now the pages are linked and there is a feature under the "account" section of your personal profile where you can "use facebook as" and switch back and forth between the two. This is great because I used to have to log in and out with my mobile bartending site and it was super obnoxious!

No one can see your personal profile and if you are worried about your friends posting lude comments or being immature, you can disable posting on your wall of the fan page and also strengthen the profanity filter.
