Portfolio Question - 01-12-2006, 11:32 PM

So next week at Imaging USA they're doing student portfolio reviews, and I've never actually submitted a print portfolio so I'm not sure how exactly to do it. I mean, is it just as simple as getting prints made and slipping them in a binder? Should I mount them in any way? Is there a "magic number" or specific range of shots to include? And should I put the prints in plastic sleeves, or leave them uncovered? I'm scared, help a newbie out.

I would find out if they have guidelines. Back when I was an undergrad, things you turned in all had to be matted. It was usually in the 6-8 print range.

For my wedding work, I use one of the Atoya portfolio books - but I wouldn't do that in this case. Without specific rules, I'd get my prints matted and submit them as such - with no plastic covers.

This isn't for a competition or for judging, it's just for a review. But I'd like to put it together so that I could also bring it to a job interview later.

OK...here's some info I found: http://art-support.com/portfolio.htm

By the way, you've got some really good images in your portfolios. I like your new "smoke" one, the guy coming out of the smoke at Kyle field are some of my favorites.
