Facebook Tagging Questions - 06-09-2011, 07:38 PM

Hi, I'm new to this and have created my studio fan page:

1) Can I tag clients photos posted to my fan page if they have only LIKED my fan page but not FRIENDED my personal page or do I tell them they have to FRIEND my personal page first? I may change my mind but would prefer to keep my business clients separate from my personal page for now if possible.

2) What is the best 'advertising my business' way to tag the client's photos, should I tag them from my end or invite them to tag the photos themselves, or does it even matter who tags them as long as the tag info is there?

3) If the answer to #2 is to tag them from my end do I type in their name (obviously) and also type in my studio name as well as my website URL?

4) If the answer to #2 is to invite them to tag themselves in the photos I post is there some kind of info link to my facebook fan page shown in the tag since they most likely will not be typing in my studio or fan page info when they tag themselves? Seems like it would be better for me to create the tag from my end so I can add my business info to the tag.

5) How are people viewing the clients images on their personal page able to know the name of my studio (other than a watermark on the image itself) or to link to my facebook fan page that leads to my website?

6) Is it best to duplicate all my website galleries like seniors, families, babies, etc in albums on my facebook fan page so I can tag all those images, thinking that a lot of people will just look at my facebook fan page and not even visit my website, or should I just post a few of my gallery images and hope they will visit my website to see more?

7) When creating those facebook galleries, using senior girls as an example, should I put all my client images together in one album called high school senior girls or is it better to make separate albums for each individual client? Seems like you might end up with too many albums if you start to have a lot of clients but does that make it any easier for them when it comes to tagging and finding their photos.

8) When an image is tagged does the person being tagged have to come to my page and download the image, then upload it to their page or does tagging somehow make those images instantly available on their page?

Thank you for helping out a newbie.

No, you can not tag anyone in your "fan page" album that is not a "friend" of your personal account - at least that I've found.

We shot a bunch of pictures for my daughter's school choir and put them in a gallery on my wife's face painting fan page. The kids had to "like" the fan page and tag themselves or their friends, if I wasn't "friends" with them on my personal account.

For example:
Plano Choir - After All These Years - Reunion Show - May 2011 | Facebook

Once they tag themselves or their friends, the photo shows up on that person's wall for all their "friends" to see with a statement like "Bob was tagged in [your name here]'s album", with a link to your album. Then, their friends can click and view the photo in your album. But, if that person makes it their profile picture, it does copy the image to their profile album on their FB account.

The photographer I work with I believe asks clients to put a link to her website or her facebook page for her studio when the pictures are posted. I "stole" a low res picture of a family portrait that we had taken, left the watermark and the description of the photo is the photographer's website with a comment on how great it was to work with her.

LuckyDucker, thanks; so even with the latest changes you still can't tag from your fan page, seems like they would have addressed and changed that but guess not. So after tagging themselves and it shows up on their wall can they put the images (let's say there are several) in their photo albums?

Is there any reason why it would be better to let them tag themselves rather than me tagging the image from my end first for them? Seems like either way it ends up on their wall - right?

Thanks auddii for your input as well.
