[QUOTE=Russell]Free advertising. though, isn't all it's cracked up to be. Let's say a local grocery store asks to use one of my ag images for their store and says, "look at all of the free advertising you'll get..."

The free advertising I speak of is not with out charge to the client. It is without charge to the photographer. This would help Mr.Evil to bring out his name and a little word of mouth never hurts either. Even if your client base is in other areas it doesnt hurt to network. that is one thing i have learned is that you should network with just about anyone. Because you never know when that person is going to say something to the right person that would be apt to use you. NON PROFs can be very connected and introduce you to many other possible clients from weddings to commercial.

by all means dont do it for free and dont pay to have it done for a client. Just remember that a pro sometimes has to see not just the bottom line but through the bottom line and chance for growth. With out growth you will never move forwards.
