Facebook Photo Fan Page question - 08-30-2011, 11:26 AM

Hey guys, I am starting to use facebook and I assumed it would be a little more difficult to take photos..at least for the average user. I shared a ton of hockey photos expecting the kids to tag themselves and use as profile pics. I put small watermarks and put them at the bottom of the photo as it was more for marketing than anything but I have already seen about 4 or 5 that have taken off my logo and/or posted on their own site without tagging. Is there a way to make this a little more difficult? I know you can screen share but it looks to me like they can just grab it and share it as their own. that sucks!

Ken, the only way is dont put them on facebook...

YOu have to also position your watermark across the middle of the image so they can crop t out also....when you upload an image you can put ( in the descrition part of the picture) THESE IMAGES ARE FOR FACEBOOK ONLY; IMAGES MAY NOT BE EDITTED, CROPPED, ALTERED IN ANYWAY. LOGO MUST STAY ENTACT AT ALL TIMES. ANY VIOLATION WILL BE REPORTED TO FACEBOOK AND ACTION WILL BE IMMEDIATLY TAKEN.

That still wont deter everyone but it might help :)

I made the same mistake when started using FB pages, but since then I made mine to be at least 480 pixels on the longest side @ 75dpi with a watermark.

You can also link your photos to FB and you can use the @ in the Comments field as a tag. (It's how I work it with Smugmug)
