Quicken 2005. My business is very new so it suits me just fine. I create an invoice in Excel, convert it to PDF, then email it to the client. After depositing the check, I enter it in the register in Quicken.

You can create invoices in Quicken and print them to a PDF or e-mail them. Saves some keystrokes that way.

Thanks,

Russell

I haven't done any invoicing as of yet, but purchased Money Small Business Edition 2005 with the intent of using it. I have used Quicken in the past, and Quickbooks was used at my previous job which worked well. I mainly bought Money as I was tired of Quicken, and the full price of the small business edition was just a bit more than the standard version of Quicken.

I have played with the invoicing features of Money a little and it looks like it should work well. There are a number of invoice templates to choose from, and you can modify them as well, though I think the process of doing this could be easier and work better. The accounts recievable appears pretty clear, as does the items (price) list. Again, I have not actually done any real billing with it, so these observations are from having just messed around with it (though somewhat extensively). I am pretty confident it will work well for me should I ever go into business.

That looks very nice. I've got it bookmarked to come back to as my business grows. Thanks for the link.

I keep track of invoice numbers, totals and taxes in Excel and create the actual invoices in Word.

I am not sure about Quicken Basic. I use Quicken Premier Home & Business.

Nope... Wait... I just checked out the Quicken website and you cannot invoice with Q Basic. See http://quicken.intuit.com/commerce/c...00000006332852 for more details.

Thanks,

Russell

Right after posting my comment, I opened Q and searched Help for invoicing. It gave me a link to upgrade to Q H&B. I probably should upgrade but will hold off just a little longer.

dont play around get the real thing right from the start believe i have learned my lesson. QuickBooks is the way to go.

Make your own letter head, drop in images, balance your bank account, make shipping labels from ups, fedex, email to client, tracks everything, makes tax time very easy for my cpa and saves me money.
