k, i was doing a favor for a guy - who is out of town, and i did this "gathering" at the 4 seasons hotel last night - my first time solo doing an event...
so anyway - first scenario question:
the contact lady was very nice - although somewhat pushy - she emailed me pictures the day before and wanted me to study those faces and make sure i got plenty of pictures of them...well...all well and good till the room fills with 150+ people and frankly - they all look the same - middle aged business men in suits...
so my first question is, now there were 7 people she wanted me to make sure i got (i'm pretty sure i covered it, but...) have you gotten requests like this before? how do you make sure you get enough of the "right" people?
second secnario question:
so i'm there, it's wayyy dark in this ballrooom, no low light lenses for this job, flash only...and the first time this lady approached me, i blew it off - but she said the flash was hurting her eyes, would i please stop. i told her i would not shoot her anymore, but was hired to photograph the party and apologized for the flash.
now, 3 hours of the same 150 people, gets a little ........repetitious....so by the end of hour 2 - i know i'm shooting the same people over and over. up comes TWO ladies at this point, complaining about the flash again. they remarked that even across the room, it was blinding them, please STOP! i walked away without saying anything this time, and just went to the other side of the room and did my business, but probably not as many pictures as i should have, as i was now very wary of pissing them off and having them come over a third time.
what would you do?
