Since I cannot find a downloadable trial version, I figured I'd post here. Anyone using this version? Can you share your opinion of it?

Hey John,

I have a copy that came with my laptop and only just fired it up to see how it works, and I'm not even sure if it's the full version.

As it's still new to me, I wished I could give you better input, but from what I've seen so far, it looks like it may be pretty good at online expense's, but I'm still experimenting.

Hopefully someone here with more experience with it can help you out better than I have.

Just a suggestion, I would invest in a more "complete" product. Something that will grow with your needs and not leave you lacking in features. I haven't looked the exact version of Quickbooks you mentioned, but I will say Quickbooks Pro is darn good. I have used it in several businesses.

My suggestion to you, is look at Microsoft Small Business Accounting Package. If you have MS Office already, this package fits in seamlessly with your other Office tools to make it really work great. I got my copy of this for my Studio for only 99.00 w/a rebate. Not sure if the rebate is still on. It is definieltly better priced than a full version of Quickbooks or Peachtree!

I use Simple Start and it works for most of my needs. I use it for the ff:

1.) creating invoices
2.) tracking receipt of payments against the invoices
3.) sales tax tracking
4.) tracking of all business expenses
5.) reporting

it's very easy to set up and depending on how sophisticated you want your system to be, it may or may not meet your needs. For example, i still do asset tracking/depreciation expenses on a separate Excel spreadsheet since it doesn't have that feature.
