Naming Your Business

I am wondering what made you name your business what you named it. I am trying to name my photography business. I was wanting to go unique as in a name that does not include my name but my mom pointed out that if she forgets a site's address she googles the name of the person. Which makes sense.

Problem is my name Rena Hobbs doesn't have a nice flow to it. I already have a craft site where I make my duct tape stuff.

So I am wanting ideas on how name my business.

When you google my name, the first thing you get is my website.
Then Facebook.
Then my google profile.
Then my LinkedIn profile.

No problems.

And you don't have your name as your business name...hmmm ok. Good to think about.

Some other photographer on the east coast had the same name as me so I needed something different.

Think ahead when you name a business, if you name your business Bob Smiths Photos and you plan to last more than 2 to 5 years and sell it in the future, having your name will not help. I for one never wanted to be the business, when someone calls or books I have always wanted them to book my business not me. I know you will find a lot of opinions on this site, but I speak from many, many years of experience.

When I decide on a specialty I will use that with my first name or nickname like: Portraits by Sidney. But it sounds so corny!!!!!!!!!!
