Thumbs down GraphiStudio Clawback on Invoices over a year old - 01-31-2012, 12:37 PM

We recently had them charge us another $200 on a recent order because we received discounts over a year ago that "we shouldn't have." Unannounced, never heard being undercharged, just when they decided they wanted to.

Just thought others should know how they operate and how customers who order with them frequently (but not in a huge volume) get treated.

Unfortunately, we built some of marketing on a unique product graphistudio soley offers. Otherwise, I would have kicked these clowns to curb a long time ago. But, I am to point where I am about to throw away all our sample albums with them and move on.

I would advise anyone picking album companies not to use Graphi (and their product isn't the best either).

I love Forbeyon - Flushmount Press Albums for Professional Photographers

We've heard other stories about GraphiStudio and have never used them.

I'd want to see it in writing where they have the right to change their invoices based on their mistake.

... but first, I'd dispute the charge with your credit card company.

Tom - yes, I am very happy with forbeyon. We have mentioned to Casey that almost 2/3 of our album sales go to this particular cover graphi offers and prints on and that we would love to send that business to them. alas, we have not gained any traction. We almost ditched graphi 1.5 yrs ago, but decided against it b/c of the sample albums we have invested in and we felt this album cover was a unique and differentiator. looking back, we wish we would have jettisoned them from the beginning (more reasons than mentioned here).

Stephen - I agree. In fact, my argument is, past invoices, which were paid in full to my knowledge, have absolutely nothing to do with this. It probably has more to do with them being pinched in the current situation over there. Another problem with graphi, is they are printed in Italy. which may sound sexy, but is a huge PITA. So, we are dealing with Italians, who admittadely, speak much better english than I do Italian, but they contacted us. We are working on tracking down our rep here in the states, and worse case, we will at least contact a state attorney general or two (depending on where they are based). And, we may have recourse via the CC.

BTW, invoices they say we were undercharged on date back to August 2010. We have done plenty of business between then and now to settle up on this....

stand by for those who would like to see the drama unfold.

yes, yes. We are working on that. This actually got charged in Nov. and was one of the wife's final deeds prior to what my joe job employer refers to as "a life event." since then, we have been getting introduced to the joys of parenthood and have neglected some things...so partially our fault.

GraphiStudio has been getting VERY aggressive lately with everything... personally, I thought they sounded desperate. I've never bought a single book from them, but they keep calling me asking if I am planning on using them....

I use Graphi and love them - call your USA Rep and talk to them about the charges. I don't believe in the USA they can come back 2 years later.

Everyone has thier issues with every lab - Forbeyon still owes me money from an album I had made then returned because the quality was so bad... The pages were bleeding through to the other side....they argued for weeks with me about the quality issue and never gave me my money back... I would love to use them - I just know if I have a problem they won't take care of it.... theowner was a real ---- to me via email -

So everyone has had issues with album makers - I have found Graphi to be very responsive if I chat with the rep her in the US - I think their product is the best in class for the price you pay... there are better out there but you pay a lot more.

Actually, the other album printers we use have been great. Sure, they have their issues, but nothing they haven't fixed quickly and professionaly.

While I have no idea what your issue was with forbeyon, nor do I really care (you should start a new thread if you want to share), there is a difference between making a mistake and being dishonest. When running our business, we make mistakes (generally small and infrequent) and greatly appreciate clients' understanding as we make them right. We extend the same courtesy to those we do business with for mistakes. And then there is being dishonest. Which, imo, is the case here. We politely alerted them of a discrepency, and they made up some bogus excuse. I don't know if you should pass it off as, "it's just to be expected as everyone has their problems with everyone."

My list for graphi goes on and on. This isn't the first issue we have had with them, and I haven't shared every little issue. I think many can benefit from our current experience, especially those who are just now picking album companies and desire someone honest to work with.

UPDATE #1:

US rep has been of zero help. He copied and pasted the exact same thing the Italian gal wrote. Figuring out our options with the CC company. Composing a "final attempt" to resolve email before we take action with Minnesota State AG and potentially credit card company (if it's still an option). Also, cutting all ties. We have a bride who ordered a graphi album. I'll eat the cost to put her in a nice picto album before we order another album with graphi. Especially since they may just decide to bill us the difference anyway!
