I find myself at the beginning of 2012 without the services of a long-term assistant who has moved from Houston.
This paid position is best suited for someone with standard workdays open (night student, etc.). Additionally, the hours are not normal or consistent.
My studio focuses on portraits with a smattering of some corporate work. The work is evenly split between on-location and my studio. I will sometimes need an assistant to help with shoots. Most of the need would be for my on-location work, but some assistance may be needed from time to time in my Museum District studio. Shoots can include multiple headshots at a corporate location, individual portrait sessions, executive portraits or editorial assignments for a couple of high end local Houston magazines. The number of sessions per week fluctuates and some weeks are much lighter than others. Sometimes I have a lot of lead time for a shoot, sometimes I get a call for a session to be shot the following day.
I obviously would not expect a person who takes on this role to be available 100% of the time due to the non-regular schedule of work. However, it would be nice to build some familiarity and good working relationship through your ability to accept most of the assistant opportunities made available.
I am ultimately looking for someone with weekday availability for one to two sessions per week, a basic knowledge of photography/lighting, a willingness to learn new things and the ability to work easily together with me for the benefit of my clients. The pay is hourly for time worked and will match experience, skill set and availability of the chosen assistant. There will be a good bit of knowledge and experience to gain as well.
Please email me at todd at stpimages.com with any questions or to reply to the posting. I prefer email since I don't come into the Forum as often as I used to (sorry, Abel), so please avoid Forum Messaging. Thanks for reading and I hope this opportunity fits someone out there. |
