Portfolio Samples? - 06-01-2006, 03:14 PM

Is there anybody out there who has a portfolio they are willing to share in terms of what Photo editors are looking for? I would like to see Layout and other aspects of what was successfully received by Photo Editors. I am trying to get an idea of what they are looking for? Number of photo's? And any other information that might assit me in gaining freelance work with some media companies. My goal would be to have access to places and events I might not other wise gain access too without being an assignment from some organazation.

OH and if you submit a resume is it a typical resume or listing equipment, training and past photo related jobs only?

Thanks!

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

well, im still working on my portfolio. i will be doing a separate website for that with about 20-30 images at the most, my strongest work with a lot of variety. i will say, i have gotten on with 2 of the biggest photo news agencies, zuma press and world picture news, as well as camera press in london, sipa press, and eyepress in hong kong from just my pbase website. so, you dont necessarily have to have a portfolio per say. but, it is always a good idea to do so. if you are going for the big agencies, they tend to want diversity now days. they want you to show that you can shoot any and everything, including on location portraits and stuff done with on location lighting and so forth. if you have any specific questions, feel free to pm me.
