Question Temporary business cards - which one? or keep trying? - 06-21-2006, 11:30 PM

I am going to print up some (very) temporary business cards - just to start to get my name out there. What do you think of these 2? Should I just keep working or do these look good to start with?

#1)

#2)

(The first one would have the other info on the back of the card.)

Please feel free to offer any tips or suggestions!!

#2 clearly conveys what type of photography you do and I feel it would be effective as a business card.

Both look good to me--

Something to think about-- unless you can do 'real' full bleed cards do #2 (not sure if you're printing them yourself or not).
On card #1 darken the background of the flower, the 2 blacks are not the same. You can also drop the "http://" from card #2... just start w/ "www"

Thanks guys. I printed up some temporary cards at home w/number 2 and they are okay. I think I may have the first one printed up professionally in the future. Nice a glossy on the front, with my contact info on the back w/room to write on them.

I'll also be sure to edit the blacks, thanks Bradley!!

Amy, if you are thinking business card, number 2 without question—it is working to sell what you do. Number one possibly would be a nice calling or introduction card but it is not selling your services. And my usual suggestion: you have three lines of text and you are using not only three different fonts but also three entirely different styles of fonts, serif, display script and sans serif. I would suggest that you change the Portrait/Event/Wedding font to match either of the other two. I would go with the san serif font used for the location and let the fancy emphasis be on the name, but either, IMO, would be more organized than using the three different fonts.

Excellent point Gary.. I wasn't paying attention w/the fonts there. I was trying to find one that worked w/the fancy script.
