Expense question: used equipment - 07-13-2006, 07:19 PM

You can write off used equipment just as you would new equipment - just for the price you purchased it correct? I would like to get a better lens for doing portraits and wanted to see if there would be an issue in doing this with used lenses, etc.

Thanks,

Cost of purchasing equipment is treated the same, whether the equipment was new or used. If you bought something on sale, it wouldn't be anything different than if you paid full price.

Just remember to keep the all paper work of the transaction...shouldn't be any problems

If you are looking for good used gear online, I highly reccomend www.KEH.com
